Bio Opt-Out for Alcatraz AI

The Bio Opt-Out feature allows users to opt out of biometric enrollment and authentication with the Alcatraz system. Personnel opting out are typically granted access using alternative methods like a badge or PIN.

The badge numbers associated with opted-out personnel can be added to the Alcatraz system. If these badges are swiped at a card reader tethered to a Rock, the Rock will not attempt to authenticate the individual or allow enrollment to proceed.

Steps to Add a User to Bio Opt-Out

1. Log into the Admin Portal:

• Begin by logging into the Alcatraz Admin Portal with your credentials.

2. Go to Profiles:

• From the left-hand side menu, select Profiles.

• In the Profiles section, select the Bio Opt-Out tab at the top of the screen.

3. Add Badge Data for the Opt-Out User:

• Click the + Add button to add a new user to the Bio Opt-Out group.

• Card Format: Select the appropriate card format for the user’s access card from the dropdown menu.

• Facility Code: Enter the facility code associated with the user’s badge.

• Badge Number: Enter the user’s badge number, which is their unique identifier within the system.

4.Save the Entry:

• Once all required fields are completed, click Save to add the user to the Bio Opt-Out list.

Additional Notes

• Opting Out of Biometrics: Users on the Bio Opt-Out list will be authenticated using their badge or other non-biometric credentials. The system will bypass facial recognition for these users, ensuring compliance with their preference not to use biometric data.

• Editing and Removing Users: If a user no longer wishes to opt out of biometric authentication, you can easily remove their badge from the Bio Opt-Out group by locating it in the list and selecting the trashcan icon to delete it.
