Hold Signal Detection
How to configure the hold signal detection feature on the Alcatraz Rock.
Overview
- The hold signal works exclusively with Wiegand connections.
- It does not work when the Rock is connected via OSDP.
- When the hold signal is asserted, the following occurs:
- No badge numbers are sent to the ACS.
- No events are recorded in the Admin Portal.
- No user activity is logged.
Configuration Steps
Step 1: Access Device Management
- Log in to the Alcatraz Admin Portal.
- Navigate to the
Device Management
section.
- Select the
Devices
tab.
Step 2: Modify Device Settings
- Locate the Rock device you want to configure.
- Click on the
Name
of the Rock to open its details.
- Click
Modify
to access the configuration options.
Step 3: Access the "Hold Signal Detection" Setting
- Scroll down to
Device Configuration
.
- Expand the
Hold Signal Detection
section.
Step 4: Enable Hold Signal Detection & Select Polarity
- By default, Hold Signal Detection is disabled. Toggle the switch to enable it.
- Once enabled, the Hold Signal Polarity options will appear:
- Active Low: The Hold signal is effective when the signal is Low.
- Active High: The Hold signal is effective when the signal is High.
- Choose the correct polarity based on your ACS setup: Active Low or Active High.
Step 5: Save Configuration
- Click Submit to apply your changes.
