Panel & Card Reader Communications: OSDP

Configuring the Rock for OSDP Communications

Overview

The Rock supports independent communication interfaces for both the Badge Reader and the ACS Panel. You can configure both to use Wiegand, one Wiegand and the other OSDP, or any other combination. This article describes how to configure the Rock to communicate via OSDP.

Pre-requisites

  • Rock Installation: Ensure the Rock is installed and powered up (refer to the Install Guide) and follow the detailed wiring guide below.
  • Access to ACS Software: Required for OSDP setup between the ACS Panel and Rock.
  • Access to Badge Reader: Required for OSDP setup between the Rock and Badge Reader.
  • Alcatraz AI Admin Portal: Access is necessary (request login credentials if needed).

NOTE: Manufacturers label their OSDP terminals in various ways. See the charts to ensure that the Rock is being connected to the proper terminals for a given panel or reader.
